HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY

Twenty five years ago today - 28th November 1984, Tanemura Soke created a Martial Art organization - the Genbukan. It was created for the purpose of preserving, sharing and teaching true Martial Art schools of various lineages that date back thousands of years ago.
Since then it has grown and evolved to become a worldwide membership and has helped people stay safe and become better human beings!

Happy 25th Birthday Genbukan!

Let's keep it going...

CROSSFIT INTRO COURSE

It was great to work alongside Miles Key at his 'box' - CrossFit Hove last weekend. The 'CrossFit Intro Course' is designed to share the basic concept and rationale behind the CrossFit.com workouts but more importantly coach people through the basic functional movements used in those workouts, such as the deadlift, squat, press, kipping pull up, etc.

Everybody that attended did a fantastic job, worked hard and made vast improvements in their skill sets.

If you have an interest in functional fitness then check out www.crossfit.com, it's certainly the way forward for fitness that transfers to everyday life whether you are an elite soldier or a grandparent. Seek out a certified CrossFit coach, so that you are learning the correct mechanics of movement, get consistent at them and then you are able to safely add the intensity that CrossFit is so well known for.
Miles Key has a fabulous set up in Hove with all the equipment and coaching that you'll need... thoroughly recommended! CrossFit Hove

CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations to all my students who passed their Tenshin Hyoho Kukishin Ryu Kirigami and Shoden Menkyo tests, this past weekend at the UK Tai Kai with Tanemura Soke. You all did great!
Also congratulations to our two new Ninpo Taijutsu Shodan Black Belts, Max and Karl. Brilliant tests! And to Tara who earned her Ninpo Taijutsu Sandan (3rd Dan). Excellent!

It was a fantastic and intense event, with so much inspiration on offer from Tanemura Soke who is the Grandmaster of this particular Ryu Ha (Martial Art School). Much was learnt and absorbed in the past four days, but the real work will now begin in forging these techniques and creating a depth of understanding and skill.

It was amazing to see the skill and spirit of Tanemura Soke when demonstrating the Ko Ryu kata in the Jujutsu but also we were so very lucky to see some of the Hanbo-jutsu and Ken-jutsu too. Truly spectacular! What a great way of celebrating Myojo Dojo's 10th Birthday!

Let's value and develop what we have learnt by continuing to train hard with good heart and spirit.
